Hey there! I’m Laura, Yue in mandarin, Yuma among the aboriginals of Taiwan. I am a sinologist by study, trekking guide, and anthropologist by passion.
I first landed in Taiwan in 2017, where I immediately fell in love with its mountains and
-alas- with an aboriginal mountain guide from the Atayal tribe too. This is how I started working as a guide and porter on the mountains of Formosa.
I completed my formation as a trekking guide on the Italian Alps to return then to the island of my heart. After a few years I finally crossed the strait and started the exploration of another amazing territory: the Tibetan plateau.
I love sharing my passion for Asia and my amazement in learning about its culture, I want to allow people to experience the emotion of exploring these distant natural environments and discovering their secrets. I like combining hiking with the practice of yoga in nature, in search of a connection with ourselves and the environment surrounding us.
Want to know more about the places I explored?
In this section you will find useful information about the trails, essential hiking equipment, historical and anthropological facts, and short stories of my personal explorations. The latter comes from the family newsletter I started writing during my first visit to Taiwan, with ironic stories of my adventures in the mountains, just to let my parents and brother know I was still alive. Enjoy!
Sorry, check out the Italian version 😉
